Short U word family

-un Words

/สŒn/ โ€” words that share the -un pattern

The -un family keeps short U before final /n/. Several of its words are especially useful in beginner decodable sentences.

How the -un family works

Keep the ending -un together, then add or change the beginning sound. Read through the whole word from left to right instead of guessing from its first letter.

1Read the ending-un /สŒn/
2Add the beginnings + -un
3Blend the wordsun
