Controlled text

Read it twice

Meg took her pet hen to the vet. The hen was wet and did not want to get up from its bed of grass.

The vet let Meg set the hen in a dry nest. He said, “Let the pet rest. Then check if it can peck and step.”

At the next check, the hen had pep again. Meg was glad to get her pet and head home.
